Tavistock South East: Debo Sellis

Debo is married to locally born retired fire officer John Sellis, her family has four children and four grandchildren, and she has a wealth of experience in local government. Debo is the current County Councillor for Tavistock, serving as Vice Chairman of the Health & Wellbeing Overview & Scrutiny Committee for the past six years. In her capacity as the current Borough Councillor for Walkham, she is also Chairman of the West Devon Borough Council Audit Committee.

A member and strong supporter of many local community groups, Debo co-founded Tidy Tavy with two local ladies, and is involved in world heritage, the Tamar Valley, the rail working party, and other diverse causes. Debo is honoured to stand in the newly created South East Ward with fellow councillor Robert Oxborough, and looks forward to serving her community for another four years, as a Borough Councillor for Tavistock.

Diana was first elected to West Devon Borough Council in 1999. Prior to that, she was the Clerk to Burrator Parish Council. As a West Devon councillor, Diana’s main interest has been in planning, where she chaired the Future Planning and Housing Committee – then one of the council’s two main strategic policy committees.
