Kenwith Ward: Alison Boyle

"Last year I was delighted to be elected as the councillor for Kenwith on Torridge District Council. It is a post which I value very much. I was very pleased to be appointed by TDC as a member of the AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and as a member of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee, which reviews decisions made regarding any of the councils functions.

Having grown up in Torridge I have been involved with many groups, such as the North Devon Economic Partnership Board and Torridge Poverty Action Group. I have also been a councillor at different levels for nearly 9 years. The combination of these experiences has given me a greater understanding of the issues which affect people. That knowledge has grown from working with parish councils and residents. There are many people, employed and voluntary, who work tremendously hard for their communities and it is a privilege to be part of the team. I support the aims of Torridge District Council to have stronger, healthier communities and sustainable growth whilst safeguarding our environment.

I strongly believe that success is far more achievable if people work together, and that is something which I always encourage. I passionately believe in our local community and what we can achieve together."
