Torridge Conservatives celebrate Bideford East by-election success

On Thursday 3rd May, James Hellyer was elected as the new Torridge District Councillor for Bideford East.

Speaking after the count, James said, "I would like to say a big thank you to all the residents of Bideford East who came out to vote in the Bideford Town and Torridge District Council by-elections on May 3rd. I especially want to thank all those who were kind enough to vote for me as their new District Councillor.

"This victory belongs to all of the people who helped with my campaign, who made the phone calls, delivered the leaflets, and gave their hearts and hands. We stayed the course in Bideford East, and because of them, we had a successful and happy campaign.

"I would also like to thank the staff from Torridge District Council who manned the polling stations and ran the count. They were as efficient as ever.

"I take my new role as Bideford East’s representative very seriously and will work hard to make sure we get the best for all residents and local businesses.

"I wish to take this opportunity to thank all those who put themselves forward as candidates to support the local community. Once again, thank you for your support."
